This is a photo taken at Pyramid Point Overlook in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore a few miles northeast of Glen Arbor in Michigan's lower peninsula. This photo looks towards the North Manitou Shoal Light Station and North Manitou Island. From where I was standing while taking this photo I was about 335 feet higher than the water.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore stretches from near Crystal Lake (near Beulah & Frankfort) north past Empire and Glen Arbor and includes the North and South Manitou Islands. This unique shoreline of Michigan's lower peninsula features sandy dunes and wooded hills with elevation changes of 400 feet or more, with trails and overlooks providing views of turquoise waters, islands, lighthouses, and undeveloped beaches. This gallery features aerial and ground-level photos that feature different areas of Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Since Sleeping Bear Dunes is a National Park, operating a drone within its boundaries is prohibited. Fortunately, the more developed & lower elevation areas of Empire and Glen Arbor are outside of park boundaries. I always make sure to operate drones and take aerial photos outside of park boundaries in respect to the National Park System's rules.
