Divided into the East and West Arm by the Old Mission Peninsula, Grand Traverse Bay is around 30 miles long and 10 miles wide (give or take). Some of the towns and cities within the bay include Traverse City, Northport, Omena, Peshawbestown, Suttons Bay, Old Mission, and Elk Rapids. Glen Lake near Glen Arbor
Glen Lake is divided into two sections, known as “Little Glen Lake” and “Big Glen Lake.” This is one of my favorite spots in Michigan! In this region of the northwestern lower peninsula you can kayak the open waters of Big Glen Lake or travel down the Crystal River, which connects Glen Lake to Lake Michigan.
