Sturgeon Lake is located in Colon Township about halfway between Three Rivers and Coldwater in St. Joseph County in Michigan's lower peninsula. The south end of Sturgeon Lake is adjacent to the village of Colon, and the north end turns into the St. Joseph River. The Michigan DNR public access boat launch site is located at the south end of the lake on the east side.
