Black Lake is located 12 miles SE of Cheboygan at the north end of Michigan's lower peninsula. It rests on the border of Cheboygan County and Presque Isle County. This aerial photo was taken from east of the lake on a late summer day.

Black Lake is located about 12 miles southeast of Cheboygan at the north end of Michigan's lower peninsula, north of Onaway and East of Indian River. It rests on the border of Cheboygan County and Presque Isle County. There are two Michigan DNR public access boat launch sites. One boat launch is at the southeast end of the lake and the other is near the Black Lake State Forest Campground to the northeast.
