Bear Lake is located a few miles NE of Onekama and about 13 miles SSE of Frankfort adjacent the Village of Bear Lake in Manistee County in Michigan's lower peninsula.

The Michigan DNR public access boat launch site is towards the northwest end of Bear Lake at the end of Milarch Rd.
