Manistee North Pierhead Lighthouse

This photo is a combination of a quick shot for the moon and a few long exposures for the boat light trails, just before the 89% full moon descended into Lake Michigan at the Manistee North Pierhead Lighthouse and piers.

The Manistee North Pierhead Lighthouse is located on the north side of the Manistee River Channel at the end of the pier by 5th Avenue Beach along the shores of Lake Michigan.

Canvas, metal, acrylic, and super high-res “epic prints” are available to purchase by clicking on an image or by visiting lakes-of-michigan.com.

This is an image taken on the shores of Manistee at Sunset in June 2020. I loved how there was so many people enjoying the view, including a family on the end of the pier. The sun looks like it is melting into Lake Michigan.

On September 1st, 2020, the Full Moon began to set behind the Manistee North Pierhead Lighthouse. This photo is the result of blending a quick exposure for the moon with long exposures to get the lighthouse and boat light trails.
