Mackinac Bridge
The Mackinac Bridge spans the Straits of Mackinac between Mackinaw City and St. Ignace at the northern tip of Michigan’s lower peninsula. The bridge is about 4 miles long and originally opened to traffic in 1957. The Mackinac Bridge Authority’s construction album is worth checking out if you are interested in the history of the bridge.
