Houghton Lake near Roscommon

Houghton Lake is located in Roscommon County near Roscommon just south of Higgins Lake, with Grayling to the north. Houghton Lake is the largest inland lake in Michigan as measured by surface area, but not water volume. There are five Michigan DNR public access boat launch sites:

• North End

• West Side

• South Side

• Southeast End

• North side towards the east end
