Elk Lake near Elk Rapids

Located near Elk Rapids and Rapid City, Elk Lake is about halfway between Traverse City and Bellaire, northwest of Kalkaska in Antrim and Grand Traverse Counties in Michigan's lower peninsula. There are a two Michigan DNR public access boat launch sites:

• Whitewater Township Park and Campground (towards southwest end)

• Boat Ramp off Elk Lake Dr (towards northeast end)
